On the occasion of India’s maiden National Space Day, I had the immense honor of delivering the inaugural talk at NIT Warangal. Standing before an audience of bright young minds, seasoned faculty, and space enthusiasts, I felt a deep sense of pride and responsibility. This day, dedicated to celebrating our nation’s remarkable achievements in space exploration, is not just a commemoration of the past but a beacon lighting the path for the future.

One of the most touching moments of the event was my introduction, which was delivered by none other than Dr. Haranath, my Physics teacher during my Bachelor's degree. Dr. Haranath has been a constant source of motivation not only for me but for many others who had the privilege of being his students. His words, filled with encouragement and wisdom, reminded me of the foundational role that great teachers play in shaping our journeys. It was an honor for me to be introduced by someone who has had such a profound impact on my academic and professional life. This moment was a full circle of sorts—a student returning to his roots, standing alongside the mentor who helped ignite his passion for science and exploration.

During this talk, I reflected not only on India’s incredible journey in space but also Worlds Lunar Journey. ISRO, from the humble beginnings to our current stature as a space-faring nation, it has been a long way. Our missions of Chandrayaan, are not just technical feats but symbols of what we can achieve when vision, dedication and innovation come together. These missions inspire not only pride in our scientific community but also hope in every Indian that our aspirations are limitless.

In my talk, I emphasized the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration in space research and development. Space, by its very nature, is a frontier that demands a convergence of various disciplines—engineering, physics, law and even ethics and culture. As we push the boundaries of what is possible, we must ensure that our efforts are sustainable, ethical and inclusive. I shared insights on the emerging trends in Lunar Exploration, a field that is becoming increasingly crucial as space activities expand beyond governmental agencies to private enterprises and international collaborations. The regulation of emerging lunar space activities, with a focus on enhancing national security while balancing diplomacy, legal frameworks, and strategic dimensions, was a key theme of my presentation.

Engaging with the students and faculty at NIT Warangal was a highlight of the day. Their enthusiasm and curiosity were palpable. It was invigorating to discuss the future of space exploration with them. We talked about the potential of new technologies, the role of startups in Lunar space innovation and the opportunities that lie ahead for young engineers and scientists. The discussions reaffirmed my belief that the next generation is ready to take India’s space program to even greater heights.

One of the most rewarding aspects of this event was the opportunity to inspire. As a nation, we are standing on the threshold of a new era in space exploration. With initiatives like National Space Day, we are not only celebrating our achievements but also nurturing the dreams of the young minds who will be the torchbearers of our future space endeavors.

Delivering India’s first National Space Day talk at NIT Warangal was not just a professional milestone for me; it was a personal celebration of the collective spirit of our nation. As we continue to explore the cosmos, I am confident that India’s contributions will be guided by the values of innovation, collaboration, and responsible stewardship. I am deeply grateful to NIT Warangal for hosting this landmark event and to all who attended, making it a day to remember. Let us continue to dream big, aim high and reach for the stars and beyond.
